Why can’t I get my gas from Atlanta Gas Light?
In 1997, the Georgia General Assembly passed legislation that deregulated the natural gas industry in Georgia. The law provided more choice and options for consumers.

Atlanta Gas Light's role shifted from distributing and selling natural gas to just distribution; marketers assumed the role of selling gas directly to consumers.

What’s the difference between a fixed rate plan and a variable rate plan?
With a variable rate, your rate can change monthly depending on changes in the gas market. The benefit is that your rate could go down below the fixed rate because of market conditions. However, it could also go up.

With a fixed rate that's guaranteed not to change for 12 months*, you pay the same every month regardless of fluctuating natural gas prices.

*SCANA Energy Regulated Division uses billing cycles to determine the length of a fixed rate plan. A billing cycle is approximately one month, but the actual number of days may vary with each billing cycle. Customers who establish service may receive an initial bill for less than a complete billing cycle or month.
