Follow these steps to check your eligibility for service with SCANA Energy Regulated Division.

SCANA Energy Regulated Division offers a simple, supportive process for income-eligible Georgians or those denied service elsewhere. Follow the steps below to see if you qualify and to get signed up today.

Income Eligible Qualifications

To be eligible for special regulated rates, your total household income has to be at or below:

To qualify you must obtain income verification or Low-Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP) through your local Community Action Agency.

You must be able to provide the agency with the following:

 

  1. Proof of income for all household members 18 and older for the past 30 days
  2. Social Security cards for all household members
  3. Most recent gas and electric bill for household
  4. Georgia ID or passport

Let us know if you've been referred by a Community Action Agency or are seeking to qualify for income-eligible service. An agent will help you seek qualification or verify your existing DHS qualifications.

Verification and deposit
An agent will run a quick credit check to see if a $100 deposit is required. If it is, they'll provide deposit payment details. You must pay the deposit before your connection can be scheduled.

Complete your enrollment 
You can make your deposit payment online or directly over the phone with your SCANA Energy Regulated Division agent. Once the payment processes, your agent will help you finalize your enrollment. For in-person payments, please call us back after your payment has been processed to complete your enrollment.

Credit Challenged Qualifications

In the event you do not qualify as income eligible, or if you have been denied service elsewhere, you can still qualify for service with SCANA Energy Regulated Division.

Verification and deposit
An agent will run a credit check for verification purposes and provide deposit payment information. A $150 deposit is required to schedule a connection order.

Complete your enrollment 
You can make your deposit payment online or directly over the phone with your SCANA Energy Regulated Division agent. Once the payment processes, your agent will help you finalize your enrollment and schedule a connection order at your service location. For in-person payments, please call us back after your payment has been processed to complete your enrollment and schedule a connection order. 

Atlanta Gas Light Senior Discount

After your SCANA Energy Regulated Division plan has been activated, income-eligible customers may qualify for up to $14 off your monthly Atlanta Gas Light (AGL) Pass-Through Charge. 

Please note: This discount is managed by AGL and approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission — not SCANA Energy Regulated Division.

Do you qualify?

AGL’s Senior Discount is available to Georgians who meet the following criteria: 

 

Are aged 65 or older
Have household income of up to $31,300 USD
Have a SCANA Energy Regulated Division gas plan in your name
